Virtual Marathon De Sables

Virtual

Join Andy Long in the Ultimate Virtual Challenge

This April, Andy Long is taking on one of the toughest endurance events on the planet — the Marathon des Sables.

From 5–11 April, Andy will cover an incredible 250km across 6 stages, battling extreme heat, sand dunes, and self-sufficiency as he crosses the Moroccan desert. It’s a challenge that pushes both body and mind to their absolute limits.

Andy isn’t doing this just for himself — he’s doing it to raise £75,000 to secure a further two years of funding for MND Carer Coordinators within the Essex NHS Trusts.

Why this matters 💜

MND Carer Coordinators play a vital role in supporting families affected by Motor Neurone Disease. They act as a single point of contact, helping carers navigate complex health and social care systems, coordinate care, access practical and emotional support, and reduce the daily pressures carers face. Their support ensures carers are not left to manage MND alone.
